SING, ZOOEY, SING!

Zooey Deschanel
I’ll admit to having a crush on Zooey Deschanel since I first saw her 10 years ago in Cameron Crowe’s wonderful “semi-autobiography” Almost Famous. (She played the protagonist’s older sister, Anita.) Lately, she’s made herself a nice little acting career in films like The Good Girl, Failure To Launch and, of course, Elf.

If you’ve seen that last film (and if you haven’t, go rent it now), you know that in addition to being adorable, Zooey can sing. In 2006, after recording a song with renowned one-man-band M. Ward, the two started a collaboration that has both audiences and critics cheering. Christening themselves She and Him, their first record, Volume 1, was released in 2008.
Adorable Zooey
A brief concert tour had ’em standing in the aisles, and a rumored Volume 2 is in the works.

Check out these videos — a welcome throwback to yesteryear.
