The last Audrey Hepburn portrait I did begat a commission for another.  Which I think turned out even better than the first.  Elegant even.  Agree?  Disagree?  Tell me in the comment section.

Yeah, yeah, you know of my fondness for Alfred Hitchcock’s PSYCHO – I won’t bore you with more words about it here.  But … as I am starting to do a Hitchcock series of drawings, why not start with a classic?  These were not the perfect images of Anthony Perkins and January et Leigh that I was looking for, but I still think it turned out pretty well.  What say you?  Let me know in the comment section below.

The Birds and Vertigo coming right up.

THE LEADSLINGER – HARRISON FORD as INDIANA JONES

I was going to call this portrait: It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage …

But those two scratches on his face make it clear (at least to an Indyphile) that this portrait wasn’t taken from that movie.  So what should I call it?

You call him Doctor Jones, doll.
Fortune and glory, kid.
Mola Ram suda ram.

Hey, it may not be the cream of that particular crop, but I love Temple of Doom anyway.  What’s not to love?  It’s Indiana Jones Goes to Hell.  Or (… as I am sometimes wont to call it) Indiana Jones and Kate Capshaw Screaming.

Whatever you call it, it’s still pretty damn cool.  I just liked this particular shot.

Gotta love Indy.  Here you go.

Greetings web surfers.  Got another portrait completed and already sold.  This one of the achingly lovely Miss Audrey Hepburn.

For some reason, the photo of Audrey that I used for this pencil drawing made me think – oddly enough – of a line from the Woody Allen movie Manhattan.  Woody’s character is riding through the titular town with his girlfriend Tracy (emphasis on girl), played by Mariel Hemingway.  He tells her: You’re God’s answer to Job. You would have ended all argument between them.  God would have said “Yeah, I do a lot of terrible things but … I can also make one of these.”  And Job would’ve said “OK, you win.”

Yes – God can make one of these.  Here she is.

THE LEADSLINGER – MORE MARILYN

Published May 25, 2010

WORDSLINGER’S NOTE: Yes, I know this Wordslinger hasn’t slung very many words lately. Actually, that’s not quite true, I just haven’t slung them on here. However, as will be evident in the very near future, there are MASSIVE, and very exciting changes happening. Stay tuned

Had another drawing commissioned recently.

Yes, it was another Marilyn Monroe.

And this is what it looked like.

I think I like it better than the last one.

Opinions?

THE LEADSLINGER – MARILYN MONROE

Published February 8, 2010

A while ago I created a category on TheWordslinger entitled The Paintslinger, wherein I have displayed some of my paintings – mostly celebrity portraits done in acrylic.

As I have been returning to such with good old fashioned pencils, I have decided to create one more category on here. This category – soon to feature much more portraiture – will be called The Leadslinger.

Here is a glimpse of things to come. Prints of this Marilyn Monroe original are available in multiple sizes, colors, and mattes. Those interested should contact me for more info.
