20th Century Fox revealed the teaser trailer for director James Cameron's loooooong-awaited Avatar today, and it is nothing less than a wonder to behold. This looks and feels like a Cameron movie, and boy has it been awhile since we've seen one of those. A dozen years since Titanic, 15 since True Lies, 18 since Terminator 2 ... you get the idea. While the Apple site officially hosting the trailer crashed this morning, I have the link to the French version which is just as splendiferous. Now that Watchmen has come and gone (can't wait for that Ultimate Cut DVD), and Star Trek is still boldly going where no Trek film has gone before (over $350 million worldwide and climbing), I'm left here in the middle of 2009 with not much to look forward to save James Cameron's Avatar in December. Transformers 2? I'll see it, but my expectations are for more of the same. Although I must add here that the trailers for Zombieland and 2012 are, surprisingly, a wonder to behold. However, after se...

At the E3 gamers expo hosted by G4, über-director James Cameron (Terminator 1 & 2, Aliens, Titanic) talked at length about his upcoming film Avatar (his first since that little boat movie in 1997). While much of his discourse covers the interrelation of the film to the simultaneously created video game, this is the most forthcoming Cameron has been regarding the plot and details of this 14-years-in-the-making film.AVATAR PRODUCTION ARTJames Cameron has always been a visionary director ...

On last night's MTV Movie Awards Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner premiered the teaser trailer for (the somewhat awkwardly titled) The Twilight Saga - New Moon. If you are a Twi-hard, this is probably not exactly news to you. Some have worried that this fast-tracked (to put it mildly) sequel to last year's sleeper hit ($380 million worldwide) would suffer from hasty production. However, those familiar with the book will find that this looks pretty good for a thrown together...

If you hadn't already heard ... a workprint of X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE was leaked online last week. Roger Friedman, film critic for Fox News, has recieved much (deserved) flak for posting a review. Yes, his review was positive, but those DVD ads we've all seen are correct: PIRACY IS STEALING.Having said that, I have still decided to post the movie in its entirety below. Let the debate begin. Have at it.

I posted not too long ago about Sylvester Stallone's new action movie, The Expendables, that is about to start filming in Costa Rica -- you can check out that article, and a pic of Sly's new look for the film, here. Well, I've got some pretty cool news about the film ... courtesy of (who else?) Harry Knowles over at AintItCoolNews.Harry just scooped a casting coup that is bound to cause action fans to rejoice. Apparently Arnold Swarzenegger will be costarring in the film. Though Sly and Arnie...

Many of you know that Sylvester Stallone is about to begin principal photography on a new action film, which he is also writing and directing, entitled The Expendables. Co-starring with Sly are Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Forest Whitaker, Randy Couture, and Mickey Roarke. This is part one of a two-picture deal Stallone has with Nu Image/...

I've already written about my love for biopics. Now one of my favorite actors is getting one of his own.STEVE McQUEENSteve McQueen, whose cool, laid-back style, and devil-may-care attitude made him one of the most popular stars of the sixties and seventies, is having his life story turned into celluloid. Based on the book Steve McQueen: Portrait of an American Rebel, the film will focus on Steve's career, which started in 1956 with a little cult film called The Blob, and will also cover his "p...

I'm not quite the Robert Zemeckis fanatic that I used to be. That said, there was a time when one of his movies was nearly as much of an EVENT to me as a Spielberg film. After all, this is the visionary responsible for classic fare like, Romancing the Stone, Back To The Future I, II, and III, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Forrest Gump, Contact, What Lies Beneath, and Cast Away. But over the past few years, Zemeckis has turned his back on live-action filmmaking and gone completely motion-capture CGI....
